We are proud to highlight the Google-sponsored 2021 Berkeley Haas John E. Martin Mental Healthcare Challenge, founded by Michael Martin, APAC Energy Markets, Regulatory, & Sustainability Lead at Google, this week on Allowed.
A collaborative effort with the Haas Healthcare Association, a student-run organization that unites UC Berkeley students with a shared mission to build a more connected and impactful healthcare ecosystem, the John E. Martin Mental Healthcare Challenge invites graduate student teams from around the world to explore and develop innovative solutions focused on improving the quality of and access to mental healthcare.
Consisting of an integrative business strategy competition, a podcast speaker series, and outreach programming, the Berkeley Haas John E. Martin Mental Healthcare Challenge works to broaden diversity, equity, and inclusion, promote advocacy, and establish strategic alliances.
Highlighting additional perspectives and solutions, this year’s Berkeley Haas John E. Martin Mental Healthcare Challenge programming includes a 5-week podcast series. Valuable for both the competitors and any listener interested in the value of mental health support, the diverse guests will inspire you and highlight important aspects of the intersection of business and mental health throughout the series. Please listen to the Berkeley Haas Healthcare Association John E. Mental Healthcare Podcast.
The 2021 Challenge focuses on the intersection of business innovation, diversity, equity and inclusion, and mental health.
In the final round of the competition, 6 teams are tasked with expanding on their business strategy recommendations that focus on improving the mental health and wellness of employees of diverse suppliers. On December 3rd, the prize-winning team will be selected at UC Berkeley by a team of Google leaders and experts in the mental health field.
